Visas for Individuals Affected by Travel Bans and COVID-19

This act aims to allow individuals selected for the diversity visa lottery, but unable to receive their visas due to travel bans or the COVID-19 pandemic, to reapply. This ensures that citizens who lost their chance for legal residency in the U.S. due to circumstances beyond their control can regain their right to apply for a visa.
Key points
Individuals who were granted visas in 2017-2021 but could not receive them due to travel bans or the pandemic can reapply.
The Department of State will notify eligible individuals about their continued eligibility and publish application procedures.
Children of visa applicants will retain their age status, even if they have aged out in the interim.
