Researching Autonomous Vehicle Impact on Cities and Transport
This act aims to establish a research clearinghouse to analyze how highly automated vehicles (self-driving cars) and new mobility innovations affect our communities. The research will cover impacts on land use, urban design, transportation systems, real estate, municipal budgets, accessibility, social equity, jobs, air quality, climate, energy consumption, and the environment. This will help citizens and local governments prepare for a future with autonomous vehicles.
