Easier Access to Benefits for Childhood Disability Beneficiaries

This act aims to simplify access to Social Security benefits for individuals whose disability began in childhood. The changes will make it easier for them to combine work with receiving financial support, removing barriers that previously discouraged employment. This will allow these individuals more freedom in their career choices without losing essential benefits.
Key points
Simplifies eligibility for benefits for individuals whose disability began before age 22, even if not continuously disabled.
Applications for child's insurance benefits will automatically be considered for disability or old-age benefits if more beneficial.
The law will take effect 24 months after enactment, allowing time for implementation.
