Restoring Benefits for Remarried Gold Star Spouses.

This act restores important non-monetary benefits to surviving spouses of veterans who received the Gold Star lapel button and have remarried. This means these individuals, despite remarrying, will regain access to federal employment preferences, military commissary access, and healthcare, which were previously revoked.
Key points
Remarried surviving spouses of veterans will regain federal civil service employment preferences.
They will have access to military commissaries and exchange facilities, as well as morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) facilities.
Their eligibility for medical and dental care will be restored.
The act also ensures access to housing and small business loans through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
