Fee Waivers and Reductions for Small OTC Drug Businesses

This act aims to ease financial burdens for small businesses that produce over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. By reducing or waiving certain fees, these companies can more easily introduce new products, potentially increasing drug availability and supporting small business growth in the pharmaceutical sector.
Key points
Small businesses (under 500 employees) will have their first OTC monograph order request fee waived.
Other applicable fees for small businesses producing OTC drugs will be reduced to 25% of the original amount.
These changes are set to take effect starting from fiscal year 2022.
