Promoting Global Migration Agreement: Protecting Migrant Rights

This act aims to encourage the United States to actively support a global migration agreement. Its purpose is to better protect the rights of migrants, including particularly vulnerable groups, and to provide support to countries hosting large numbers of migrating individuals. Citizens can expect the U.S. to pursue a more regulated and humane approach to global migration issues.
Key points
Supporting a global agreement to address root causes of migration and protect migrant rights, including their right to health.
Special focus on protecting women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, and indigenous peoples.
Establishing financial support mechanisms for countries and localities bearing a disproportionate burden of forced migration.
Expanding migrant definitions to include vulnerable groups currently unprotected by international law.
