Faster Rehearings for Energy Decisions

New rules aim to speed up the process of reviewing appeals against decisions made by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Citizens and businesses will have assurance that their rehearing applications will be addressed within a set timeframe, increasing transparency and efficiency. If no decision is made by the deadline, the application will be considered denied.
Key points
Applications for rehearing of FERC decisions must be acted upon within 120 days.
In exceptional cases, the deadline can be extended to 210 days if FERC deems it necessary.
If FERC fails to act by the deadline, the application will be automatically considered denied.
The rules aim to ensure quicker responses to appeals concerning energy decisions.
