Sustainable Neighborhoods Initiative: Transforming Areas of Extreme Poverty

The Act authorizes the Department of Housing and Urban Development to make grants to transform neighborhoods of extreme poverty into sustainable, mixed-income neighborhoods. The program includes housing revitalization, improved access to services, transportation, and education, as well as support for resident economic self-sufficiency and relocation.
