Support for states and tribes to prevent veteran suicides

A new law establishes financial and technical support programs for states and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes. The goal is to help them create and implement plans to prevent veteran suicides, directly improving access to help and support for this group.
Key points
States and tribes can receive funding for veteran suicide prevention activities.
Grants of up to $500,000 per year for up to three years are available for implementing plans.
The program will provide technical assistance to develop effective suicide prevention plans.
Grants are planned for dozens of states and tribes between 2022 and 2024.
