GET IT DONE Act: Preventing Government Shutdowns and Freezing Official Salaries

This act aims to prevent government shutdowns that can disrupt public services. It introduces mechanisms to compel Congress to pass the budget faster, including escrowing senior officials' salaries and restricting official travel if the budget is not enacted on time. This is intended to ensure government continuity and avoid disruptions to citizens' lives.
Key points
If the budget is not passed on time, salaries of senior government officials (including the President, Vice President, and Members of Congress) will be held in escrow until the budget is enacted.
In the absence of an enacted budget, officials will be prohibited from using public funds for official travel, with an exception for travel to the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Congress will be restricted from adjourning for more than 12 hours until all annual appropriation bills are approved.
If no budget is enacted, government programs will continue to be funded at the previous year's level, but with automatic 2.5% reductions every 30 days, encouraging prompt budget approval.
