Ban on harmful substances in cosmetics: safer products for everyone

This act bans certain harmful chemical substances in cosmetic products sold in the United States. Its aim is to increase the safety of products used daily by citizens, protecting their health from potentially dangerous ingredients. The changes will take effect from January 1, 2025.
Key points
Starting in 2025, substances like PFAS, phthalates (Dibutyl Phthalate, Diethylhexyl Phthalate), formaldehyde and its derivatives, mercury, and certain parabens and phenylenediamines will be banned in cosmetics.
Citizens can expect safer cosmetic products on the market, reducing the risk of exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.
Cosmetic manufacturers will need to adjust their formulations to comply with the new legal requirements.
