Increased Pay for Correctional Officers in Certain US Regions

This act aims to increase the pay for some Bureau of Prisons employees working in lower-paying regions. Their salaries will be brought closer to those in neighboring, higher-paying areas, potentially improving working conditions and retaining experienced staff.
Key points
Certain correctional officers in the "Rest of U.S." pay locality will receive higher locality pay rates, matching those of the nearest other pay locality.
This applies to employees whose official worksite is within 100 miles of another pay locality, excluding "Rest of U.S.".
The new provisions will take effect 180 days after the act's enactment.
