New Dispute Resolution Rules for Maritime Transport

This act extends existing railway labor dispute provisions to the maritime sector. This means maritime employees and employers will have access to the same conflict resolution mechanisms as railway workers. The goal is to ensure supply chain stability by resolving disputes more quickly and orderly.
Key points
Maritime employees and employers will follow the same dispute resolution rules as railway workers.
A special National Mediation Board and Adjustment Boards will be established for the maritime industry to quickly resolve conflicts over pay, rules, and working conditions.
Maritime dispute cases currently pending before the National Labor Relations Board will be transferred to the new National Mediation Board.
