Water Infrastructure Support for Impoverished Rural Communities

This act aims to facilitate access to loans and grants for water and waste infrastructure in rural communities, especially those facing persistent poverty. This means more residents, even in larger towns, will be able to benefit from funds to improve access to clean water and wastewater disposal, directly impacting their health and quality of life.
Key points
Larger communities (10,000 to 30,000 inhabitants) can now apply for water and waste loans and grants, which was previously limited to smaller towns.
Priority for funding will be given to communities in counties where at least 20% of the population has lived in poverty for the past 30 years.
Improved water and waste infrastructure can lead to better sanitation and health conditions in poverty-stricken regions.
