COVID-19 Justice: Right to Sue and Temporary Arbitration Halt

This act allows individuals to sue those who violated COVID-19 related laws, if they suffered harm as a result. It also temporarily stops the enforcement of pre-dispute arbitration agreements for employment, consumer, antitrust, and civil rights disputes, making it easier to pursue claims in court.
Key points
You can sue individuals or entities who violated COVID-19 laws (e.g., CARES Act, Families First Coronavirus Response Act) if you suffered harm.
Important: During the COVID-19 emergency period, you cannot be forced into arbitration for employment, consumer, civil rights, or antitrust disputes – you can go to court.
The arbitration suspension applies to disputes arising from the start of the COVID-19 emergency and lasts until 180 days after it ends.
