Ban on Foreign Money in U.S. Elections

This act aims to limit the influence of foreign entities on U.S. elections. It introduces new rules preventing foreign-controlled or significantly foreign-owned businesses, as well as political action committees, from contributing to election campaigns. This ensures that political decisions are made in the country's interest, free from foreign financial influence.
Key points
Businesses with 50% or more foreign ownership are prohibited from making election contributions.
Businesses with 1% or more foreign ownership, or those controlled by foreign nationals, also face restrictions on election funding.
Companies must now certify under penalty of perjury that they are not foreign-controlled when making election-related contributions.
Corporate political action committees must certify that their decisions are not influenced by foreign nationals.
