Veterans' Support: Ending Deductions from Disability and Separation Pay

This act aims to ensure that veterans receiving disability compensation will not have their benefits reduced due to prior separation payments. Additionally, it introduces limitations and rules for deductions from military retirement pay to protect veterans from undue financial hardship.
Key points
Veterans with disability compensation will not have their benefits reduced because of previous military separation pay.
Deductions from military retirement pay will be limited to 25% of the monthly amount, unless the veteran requests a faster repayment.
A 90-day waiting period is introduced before deductions from retirement pay begin, with clear notification requirements for veterans.
The Secretary of Defense can waive deductions if they would cause financial hardship for the veteran.
