Veterans Support: Easier Education Benefits After School Closures

New rules make it easier for veterans who didn't transfer all credits after a school closure or disapproval to continue their education with benefits. The act simplifies the application process for educational assistance and removes the requirement to specify an effective period for transferring Post-9/11 educational assistance to dependents.
Key points
Veterans who transferred fewer than 12 credits after a school closure can more easily receive continued educational benefits.
Written certification of transferred credits and acknowledgment of consequences for transferring 12 or more credits are required.
The requirement to specify an effective period for transferring Post-9/11 educational assistance to dependents has been eliminated.
