School Reopening Support: In-Person Learning and Safety Plans

This act aims to encourage schools to resume in-person instruction by introducing new funding rules. Schools providing in-person learning will receive full support, while those that do not may lose some or all funds. This is intended to accelerate the return of children to schools and normal learning.
Key points
Schools will receive funds for resuming in-person instruction, but only after a safe reopening plan is approved.
Schools offering at least 50% in-person instruction for 50% of students will automatically receive full support.
Schools without any in-person instruction will not receive a portion of funds, and those with limited in-person instruction may have reduced grants.
Reopening plans must include a timeline for returning to in-person instruction and a description of how safety will be ensured.
