No Travel for Countries Offering Citizenship by Investment

This act aims to restrict participation in the Visa Waiver Program for countries that offer citizenship in exchange for investment. This means citizens of such countries may lose their ability to travel to the U.S. without a visa, impacting their travel plans and freedom of movement. The U.S. government will also work with the European Union and the United Kingdom to implement similar restrictions in the Schengen area.
Key points
Countries offering citizenship by investment programs will be disqualified from the U.S. Visa Waiver Program.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will create a list of such countries and engage with the EU and UK to eliminate Schengen area visa-free travel for them.
Public funds cannot be used to vet applicants for citizenship by investment programs on behalf of foreign states.
