EV Charging Tax Credits: Extended and Increased Benefits

This act extends and increases tax credits for individuals and businesses installing electric vehicle charging stations. The goal is to encourage the growth of EV infrastructure, making electric vehicles more accessible and contributing to a cleaner environment.
Key points
The tax credit for alternative fuel refueling property is extended until the end of 2026.
The maximum credit amount for certain public or fleet charging stations increases from $30,000 to $100,000.
For individual installations, the maximum credit increases from $1,000 to approximately $3,333.
An additional 20% credit is introduced for costs exceeding the previous limit, specifically for public-use (free or credit card payment) or commercial/governmental fleet charging properties.
