Increased FEMA transparency: reports on assistance and denials

This bill requires the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to regularly report to Congress on how much money is provided to disaster victims and how often assistance applications are denied. This will give citizens better insight into how the disaster relief system operates and whether aid is distributed fairly, especially based on income.
Key points
FEMA will be required to disclose average amounts of individual assistance provided and denial rates for different income groups.
The reports will help understand why some assistance applications are denied, potentially leading to improvements in the disaster relief process.
