Easier Access to Health Insurance for Businesses and Self-Employed.

The FLEX Act aims to make it easier for small businesses and self-employed individuals to access health insurance by allowing the creation of "association health plans." Groups of employers can jointly offer coverage, provided they meet specific requirements.
Key points
New rules make it easier for groups of employers (e.g., from the same industry or region) to jointly offer health insurance to their employees.
Self-employed individuals may qualify to join these plans as employees.
These plans must meet requirements regarding structure, control, and non-discrimination based on health status.
Participating in such a plan does not create an employment relationship between group members.
