Protecting Immigrant Military Families from Deportation

This act aims to protect close immigrant relatives of military members and veterans from deportation. These changes can provide greater stability and security for families whose members have served in the U.S. armed forces, provided they have not committed serious crimes and do not pose a threat.
Key points
Close relatives (spouses, parents, children, siblings) of military members and veterans are protected from deportation.
Protection also extends to individuals eligible for the Gold Star lapel button (for families of fallen service members).
Protection does not apply to individuals convicted of serious crimes or posing a threat to national security.
