Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act: Equal Digital Access

This act aims to ensure that websites and applications used by employers, public entities, and businesses are accessible to individuals with disabilities. This means everyone, regardless of their limitations, will be able to use online services, apply for jobs, or obtain information, just like individuals without disabilities. The act seeks to eliminate digital barriers that hinder the daily lives of many citizens.
Key points
Accessibility Requirement: Websites and applications of businesses, public institutions, and other entities must be designed to be user-friendly for individuals with various disabilities (e.g., blind, deaf, with limited mobility).
Equal Opportunities: Individuals with disabilities will have the same access to online information, services, job opportunities, and other resources as individuals without disabilities.
Enforcement: The Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will establish and enforce accessibility standards, and citizens will be able to file complaints and lawsuits in case of violations.
Support and Guidance: Technical assistance centers will be established to support companies and institutions in adapting their websites and applications, and to advise individuals with disabilities on their rights.
