Support for Victims of Crimes by Undocumented Immigrants

This bill changes how crime victim compensation is paid out. It prioritizes payments to victims of crimes committed by individuals unlawfully present in the U.S. Conversely, individuals unlawfully present in the U.S. will not be eligible for compensation from this program.
Key points
Crime victim compensation programs must prioritize payments to victims of crimes committed by individuals unlawfully present in the U.S.
These programs will not be able to provide compensation to individuals who are themselves unlawfully present in the U.S.
Programs cannot prioritize victims of crimes if the perpetrator's immigration status is unknown.
