This act aims to protect citizens from unfair price increases on essential goods and services, such as fuel and basic necessities, during natural disasters, pandemics, or states of emergency. The Federal Trade Commission will gain new powers to prosecute such practices and will launch a dedicated hotline for reporting abuses. This will help citizens feel more secure, knowing their basic needs won't be exploited during difficult times.
