Easier Court Access for Young Prisoners

This act makes it easier for young individuals in prison to pursue their rights in court. It means that prisoners under 22 years old, or those whose cases relate to conditions before they turned 22, will not have to meet certain additional requirements that often complicate filing lawsuits. This gives them a better chance for a fair hearing of their complaints about prison conditions.
Key points
Young prisoners (under 22) are exempt from certain requirements for filing lawsuits.
The exemption also applies to cases concerning prison conditions that occurred before the prisoner turned 22.
The goal is to facilitate access to justice for this group of individuals.
