Easier Inheritance of Hawaiian Lands for Descendants

This act aims to simplify the inheritance of lands designated for Native Hawaiians by lowering the required blood quantum. This will allow more families to retain their homes and lands, preventing loss due to changing family structures. These changes will also help reduce long waiting lists for land assignments.
Key points
Lowering the required blood quantum from 25% to 1/32 for successor lessees and applicants on the waiting list.
Enabling a wider range of relatives to inherit land, including children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, and also widows/widowers of children and siblings, and nieces and nephews.
Ensuring that lands designated for Native Hawaiians remain within families, even if descendants have a smaller percentage of Hawaiian blood due to interracial marriages.
Accelerating the land allocation process by allowing older applicants to designate successors, preventing the loss of their place on the waiting list upon their death.
