New Markets for State-Inspected Meat and Poultry

This act allows meat and poultry inspected by state authorities to be sold nationwide, removing previous restrictions to in-state distribution. This means consumers will have access to a wider variety of meat and poultry products, and local producers will gain new sales opportunities. State and local governments cannot prohibit or restrict the sale of these properly inspected products.
Key points
State-inspected meat and poultry can now be sold across state lines, not just within one state.
State and local governments cannot block the sale of these properly inspected products.
This change may increase the availability of meat and poultry products and support local producers.
