Separating Joint Student Loans: New Options for Spouses and Former Spouses.

This law allows married couples and former spouses who took out a joint student loan to separate it. This means each individual can have their own loan, simplifying debt management, especially in cases of divorce or communication difficulties. Even those in default can take advantage of this option.
