Ending Pricey Insulin Act: Capping Patient Costs

This act aims to lower the cost of insulin for patients. It sets a $50 monthly cap on out-of-pocket expenses for insulin for most individuals, regardless of whether they have insurance or not.
Key points
Out-of-pocket costs for insulin will be capped at $50 per 30-day supply for individuals with group or individual health insurance.
The $50 cap also applies to individuals covered by Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, VA, and TRICARE programs.
Individuals without health insurance will also pay no more than $50 for a 30-day supply of insulin.
The act includes provisions for reimbursement of overpaid amounts if enacted after January 1, 2022.
