New Controlled Substances Registration Rules: Preventing Illegal Diversion.

This act introduces new rules for registering entities involved in manufacturing, distributing, or dispensing controlled substances and certain chemicals. The goal is to enhance control over these substances and prevent their illegal use. This helps ensure public safety by more closely monitoring the handling of these materials.
Key points
Registration for controlled substances automatically terminates upon death, cessation of legal existence, or discontinuation of business.
Registrants must promptly notify the Attorney General in writing if they cease legal existence or discontinue business.
Registration cannot be assigned or transferred without the Attorney General's written consent.
Upon discontinuing business, registrants must return their certificate of registration and unexecuted order forms.
