Untraceable Firearms Act: Ending Ghost Guns and Enhancing Traceability

This act aims to ensure all firearms have unique serial numbers, making them traceable by law enforcement. It introduces new rules for manufacturing and possessing unserialized firearms, known as "ghost guns," and the machines used to make them. Citizens will need to ensure their firearms comply with these new regulations to avoid legal consequences.
Key points
All new firearms must have a unique serial number engraved by a licensed manufacturer or importer.
Manufacturing, selling, purchasing, and possessing "ghost guns" (unserialized firearms) will be prohibited after 30 months from the act's enactment, with some exceptions.
New definitions for "ghost gun," "frame or receiver," and "fire control component" are introduced to cover parts used in self-assembly.
Owners of existing "ghost guns" will have a limited time to have a serial number engraved by a licensed manufacturer or importer.
The sale and possession of machines primarily designed for manufacturing firearms are restricted to licensed manufacturers.
Regulations for undetectable firearms are updated to include any firearm where no major component is entirely made of detectable material by airport security devices.
Penalties, including fines and imprisonment, are established for violations related to "ghost guns."
