Donor Protection: Ending Unwanted Recurring Political Contributions.

New rules aim to protect citizens from unknowingly agreeing to recurring political contributions. Organizations collecting such contributions must obtain explicit consent, not rely on pre-checked boxes. Citizens will have easier access to cancellation information and immediate cancellation upon request.
Key points
Explicit consent is required for recurring political contributions; pre-checked boxes are not enough.
Organizations must provide clear information on recurring contribution terms and how to cancel them.
Recurring contributions must be immediately canceled upon donor request.
