Improved Access to Specialist Doctors in Rural Areas

This act aims to improve access to healthcare for residents in rural and underserved areas. It will enable primary care physicians and other healthcare providers in local health centers to expand their knowledge and skills, allowing them to treat more conditions locally without referring patients to distant clinics. This means easier and faster access to specialized care for citizens.
Key points
Local health centers will receive grants for training doctors to treat more conditions on-site.
Training will cover many fields, such as diabetes, skin diseases, mental health, and care for children and seniors.
Patients can have a concurrent visit with their primary care provider and a specialist without additional costs.
At least half of the grants will go to health centers in rural areas to improve healthcare access there.
