Easier Work for Childhood Disability Beneficiaries

This act aims to make it easier for individuals with disabilities that began in childhood to work without fear of losing their benefits. It changes the rules for applying for benefits to better support their financial independence. As a result, more people will be able to work while still receiving support.
Key points
Simplifies combining work with benefits for individuals whose disability began before age 22.
Applications for childhood disability benefits will automatically be considered for other more favorable benefits (e.g., old-age or disability insurance benefits).
Continuous disability from onset to application date will no longer be required, simplifying the process.
