Early Medicare Access for Retired First Responders

This act allows firefighters, police officers, and paramedics aged 50-64 who are retired or disabled to buy into Medicare. This provides them with access to comprehensive healthcare, including hospital, medical, and prescription drug benefits, before reaching the standard age of 65. The aim is to ensure continuous healthcare for those who often end their service earlier due to the nature of their profession.
Key points
Option to buy into full Medicare benefits (Parts A, B, and D) for eligible first responders aged 50-64.
Individuals will pay a monthly premium equal to the average cost of Medicare benefits.
