Zero-Emission Homes Act: Rebates for Eco-Friendly Home Upgrades

This act establishes a rebate program for homeowners and multifamily building owners to install zero-emission technologies like heat pumps, electric stoves, and dryers. The goal is to encourage the transition to cleaner energy sources in homes, potentially lowering energy bills and reducing environmental impact. Higher rebates are available for low- and moderate-income households and Tribal communities.
Key points
Rebates available for installing heat pumps for water and space heating/cooling, electric stoves, dryers, and electrical panel upgrades.
Maximum rebate is up to $10,000 per home, covering up to 50% of project costs, including labor.
For low- and moderate-income households and Tribal communities, rebates can cover up to 100% of costs, with a maximum of $14,000.
Rebates are only for projects performed by certified contractors and apply to replacing non-electric appliances or new construction.
