Wildlife Protection: Tribal Corridors for Animal Movement

This act allows Indian Tribes to establish and manage special areas, called Tribal Wildlife Corridors, to help animals move safely between different lands. The federal government will provide financial and technical support for these efforts, and also protect sensitive tribal information from disclosure. This aims to improve the natural environment and protect wildlife.
Key points
Indian Tribes can establish and manage wildlife corridors on their lands, supporting animal migration and species protection.
The federal government will provide financial assistance (grants up to $50 million annually) and technical support to Tribes for creating and maintaining these corridors.
Information regarding sensitive cultural sites or human remains on tribal lands will be protected from public disclosure, ensuring privacy and respect for traditions.
The act does not affect private property rights or Indian lands, nor does it alter federal trust responsibilities to Tribes.
