This act makes it easier for pregnant individuals to get health insurance by creating special enrollment periods. It also ensures that insurance plans cover maternity care, childbirth, and postpartum care for all eligible individuals, including dependents. Additionally, the act strengthens and makes permanent 12-month continuous coverage under Medicaid and CHIP for pregnant and postpartum individuals.
