Permanent Lobbying Ban for Former Members of Congress: The BLAST Act

This Act, cited as the Banning Lobbying And Safeguarding Trust Act, amends Title 18 of the United States Code. It prohibits former Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and elected officers of Congress from lobbying Congress at any time after leaving office. The prohibition applies to knowingly making communications with the intent to influence legislative actions on behalf of any other person (except the United States).
