Ban on Research Using Aborted Fetal Tissue

New rules prohibit government agencies from conducting or supporting scientific research using fetal tissue obtained from abortions. This means medical research will need to rely on other, ethical sources, which may influence the direction of certain therapies and vaccine development. At the same time, the act allows for the development of new cell lines, provided they are not derived from abortions.
