End of Visa Lottery: Changes to US Immigration Program

This act aims to terminate the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, commonly known as the Visa Lottery. This means that in the future, it will no longer be possible to apply for an immigrant visa through this program. Individuals already selected in the lottery before the act's enactment will still be able to apply for their visas.
Key points
The Diversity Visa Lottery Program will be completely abolished, ending this pathway to obtaining a green card.
Individuals who were already selected in the lottery before the act's effective date will retain their right to apply for a visa.
These changes will impact future immigration opportunities to the US for individuals outside traditional family or employment-based paths.
