Changes in energy standards, census, and financial regulations.

This document addresses the consideration of four bills. The first aims to prohibit new energy efficiency standards if they are not technologically feasible or economically justified. The second introduces a citizenship question to the decennial census and modifies congressional apportionment. The third concerns congressional disapproval of certain accounting rules, and the fourth provides tenure security for mining claims for ancillary activities.
Key points
Limiting new energy efficiency standards: This could affect the availability and cost of certain household appliances if new, more efficient models are not introduced.
Changes to the census and congressional apportionment: Including a citizenship question in the census could alter how populations are counted, potentially impacting political representation for states.
Disapproval of accounting rules: This may affect how companies report their finances, indirectly impacting investors and the market.
Tenure security for mining claims: Providing legal certainty for ancillary activities on mining claims could impact the development of local mining-related economies.
