School Support: Grants for Student Educational and Health Needs.

This new act establishes a grant program to help schools address students' academic, social-emotional, mental, behavioral, and physical health needs, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds will be directed to schools to improve the quality of education and support for students, especially those from low-income families and groups disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
Key points
Schools and educational organizations can apply for funds to support programs addressing student academic progress and social-emotional, mental, behavioral, and physical health.
Priority for grants will be given to applicants serving high-need student populations, including low-income students, students of color, homeless students, and students with disabilities.
Funds can be used for developing assessments, social-emotional learning, mental health services, extended instructional time, tutoring, and recruiting diverse educators.
