Extended Health Coverage for Children and Vulnerable Adults

This act aims to simplify healthcare access for children and certain adults. It allows states to offer longer periods of continuous health coverage, meaning less paperwork and more reliable access to medical care for eligible individuals. These changes can help families maintain consistent healthcare.
Key points
Children under 6 can have continuous coverage until age 6, if the state chooses.
Children aged 6-18 can have continuous coverage for 24 months, if the state chooses.
Certain adults (over 18, low income, homeless, or recently incarcerated/hospitalized) can have continuous coverage for 12 months, if the state chooses.
States receiving new program waivers must annually review demographic information of enrolled individuals.
