Photo ID Requirement for Federal Elections Voting.

This new act mandates photo identification for voting in federal elections, whether in person or by mail. The goal is to enhance election security and integrity. Citizens without a photo ID can obtain one free of charge or use alternative methods to cast their vote.
Key points
All voters will be required to present a valid photo identification to cast a ballot in federal elections, starting in 2024.
In-person voters without photo ID can cast a provisional ballot but must present ID or a religious affidavit within 3 days.
Mail-in voters must submit a copy of a valid photo ID or the last four digits of their Social Security number with an affidavit of inability to obtain a copy.
States must provide free photo identification to individuals unable to pay for or obtain one, and ensure public access to digital imaging devices for copying IDs.
Voters will be notified of the photo ID requirements when registering to vote.
