Patient Visitation Rights in Hospitals: No One Left Alone

This act aims to ensure patients in hospitals have the right to receive visitors. Hospitals will be required to clearly define visitation policies, inform patients about them, and cannot deny visitation based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, or disability. This will provide patients with greater emotional support during their stay in medical facilities.
Key points
Patients gain the right to designate visitors, including family members and friends, in hospitals.
Hospitals must develop and provide written policies on visitation rights, including any reasonable restrictions.
Discrimination in visitation access based on race, sex, religion, or disability is prohibited.
Patients have the right to withdraw consent for visitors at any time.
