New Rules for Collecting Aviation Noise Data

This act requires the government to collect and publish data on the number of people exposed to various levels of aviation noise. This will give citizens better insight into how aircraft noise affects their environment and health, which can help in making decisions about where to live or taking action to reduce noise.
Key points
The government will annually publish data on the number of people exposed to aviation noise at three different loudness levels (65, 55, and 46 dBA).
The first report will include historical data from 2010, allowing for an assessment of changes in noise exposure over the years.
All future reports on aviation noise must include comprehensive data, not just those concerning the highest noise level.
